where do i begin?
This is the first of three blog posts that will explain more about the members of Rally Towel Sports and who we are as individuals. You all see the collaboration and how well we work together but there is much that goes on behind the scenes to make each show special. It wouldn’t work if we all didn’t add our own seasoning to the recipe and we hope that these personal posts lend you perspective as to who we are, what we’re about, and why we are here.
Where do I begin? It is not often you write an introspective piece but here I am.
In a few weeks I turn 31. It’s amazing how fast time really flies. Each year has brought new experiences into my life, people have come and gone, but my passion to make a difference in this world remains the same.
That passion stems from a new lease on life for me. When I was 20, I almost lost it to a medical issue that stemmed from a sports injury. A dislocated knee on the basketball court morphed into three pulmonary embolisms and had I arrived at the hospital any later than I did, I wouldn’t be here. There have been a few pivotal moments in my life and that is one of them.
My content creation journey began in November of 2020. Shortly after another pivotal moment and also during the pandemic. For those who don’t know, I have a passion for video games. It’s been a hobby of mine since I was a kid. The game was Call of Duty and a close friend of mine told me that people would watch me play. I thought he was crazy. I honestly thought no one would want to watch me play. I took the leap of faith and launched myself into this world.
When you dive into this arena you have so many worries and you ask yourself a multitude of questions…will people like me? Will I be good at this? What if I run out of things to say? I’m not the best so why would people watch me? I had many insecurities to say the least. A year and a half later the community is stronger than ever, we have donated over $1k to charity, and I have created lifelong friendships that I wouldn’t trade for the world. And he was right, people would watch.
Last year around this time, I approached Todd about the idea we had almost a decade ago. We formed this on our trips to Miami’s Middletown campus and over cheese coney’s on our lunch breaks...and possibly a few beers. I had proven success on the gaming platform, all of the equipment/knowledge necessary to get us started, we live across the street from each other, and it was now or never.
Todd took the leap with me, 6 months later we collab with Corey for the first time, and the rest is history. We all love sports, talking sports, and beer…it’s a match made in heaven.
Never in my life would I have imagined being in front of a camera 5-6 days a week putting out content but here I am.
Life is too short, pursue your passions.
It’s honestly hard to believe that a few kids who grew up less than a mile away from each other have come together after all this time to create something that I believe is truly special.
Stay classy,
Bobby
hello. we are rally towel sports.
First off, there is something we want you to know. The world is full of people that disagree on so many topics. Red vs Blue, Left vs Right. There is one thing we as a Nation can come together on.
Bobby Boucher is the greatest football player of all time. The ability for one athlete to affect the trajectory of football games in such a dominant, aggressive and quite honestly, dangerous fashion is all the evidence one needs to classify Mr. Boucher as a “UNIT”.
Glad we all agree there. Big moment for us all.
Now then, this is Rally Towel Sports. For those of you that have been here since the beginning, Sup? Looking good, as always. New here? HELL YEAH. Welcome!
Rally Towel Sports is a community of people who love sports. Honestly the only thing we like more than sports, is talking about sports. So we meet a few times a week on Facebook, YouTube and Twitter, and spend an hour or two doing just that. “We” is not meant to refer to the guys on the shows. “We” is you. It’s all of us.
So what are “we” about?? Sports. We’ve covered that..
Charity. We wholeheartedly believe that whatever we give to the world through this entity will come back to us tenfold. So, in an effort to propel RTS into stardom, fame and fortune, we decided we should help raise a shit ton of money for different people who need it. Seriously though, thank you to everyone that has taken part in our previous charity fundraisers, you all are amazing.
Where will RTS go? What will it look like next year? 5 years from now? Not sure.
One thing is for sure, that our team of content creators will keep trying to make this a place where we all enjoy our time together over a few Dad Pops, as we all try and help some people out along the way.
Finally, it’s safe to say that had he committed his life to playing professionally, Bobby Boucher would likely have shattered Michael Strahan’s single-season sack record.
Thanks for dropping by.
Cheers
Bobby, Corey, John and Todd
